System & Schedule

League system and tiers

The league system is meticulously structured to challenge and elevate player skills. Comprising five distinct tiers, each league escalates in difficulty while narrowing the player pool, thereby intensifying competition and amplifying prizes.

The League operates on a dynamic promotion and relegation system based on your placement at the end of each round. Finishing within the promotion range advances you to the next league while finishing within the relegation range demotes you to a lower league.

League Schedule and Progression

The operational cadence of The League unfolds in set seasons comprised of four weekly rounds, each consisting of six days dedicated to gameplay followed by a one-day rest period where results, rating, and prizes are calculated.

League Schedule & Format

  • Rounds: Weekly, with six days of gameplay (Monday 00:00:00 UTC – Saturday 23:59:59 UTC) and one day for rest and rank-based prize calculation (Sunday).

  • Season: Four rounds make up one season. Game and league rules are subject to change between seasons.

The leaderboard will be locked with prizes claimable every Sunday, 12:00 (UTC)

At the end of each round, player placements are recalibrated, with opportunities for promotion or relegation for participants based on their ranking. Thriving in this dynamic environment requires not only mastery of fundamental mechanics but also the ability to adapt strategies and make insightful decisions in response to continuous change.

Promotion & Relegation

  • Promotion: At the end of each weekly round, based on individual ranking points, challengers who fall under the top % specified for each tier will be promoted and advanced to the next league tier.

  • Relegation: Based on the same method as “Promotion”, those that fall under the bottom % specified for each tier will be relegated and demoted to the previous league tier.

  • Remain: Each challenger that is not promoted nor relegated will remain in the same league tier for the next weekly round.

Entry & Rules

League entry and tickets

New challengers starting their journey in the League enter the Tryout League where players compete to begin their climb up the tiers. Entry into higher-tiered leagues will require League Tickets for each round. The cost varies depending on the league tier and these tickets are purchasable at any point during a round, using either Drachma Points (DP), in-app purchase, or through the Sponsored Play offered through Cornucopia.

League Tickets:

  • Purchased using Drachma Points (DP)

  • Purchased using In-App Purchase

  • Borrowing DP from Sponsored Play to pay for the league entry.

League Rules

Maintaining fairness and integrity within the League requires unwavering compliance with league rules and regulations.

  • League Mode Only: Matches played in the official League Mode with pre-determined difficulty level are counted towards scoring and ranking.

  • Minimum Participation: To be eligible for a league score, participants must complete a minimum of six games per round; those who do not meet this requirement are disqualified (DQ) from ranking.

  • Daily Cap: Maximum daily participation is limited to seven games.

  • Time Limit: Each game has a maximum time limit of 100 minutes, after which the current attempt ends automatically, and the score is calculated according to their in-game progress.

Ranking & Prizes

The league’s scoring methodology is designed to reward both performance and efficiency. There are two components to the formula.

Game Scores:

First is the “Game Score” which represents the rating for an individual game determined primarily by the number of floors descended in The League of SKYHILL, supplemented by how efficiently the allotted time is used. The highest game scores are earned by those who successfully navigate down the floors in the shortest amount of time.

  • Game Score = Floor Score + Time Score

    • Floor Score = 100 - Lowest Floor Reached

    • Time Score = Minute Score + Second Score

      • Minute Score = Remaining Time Limit (minutes) x 0.01

      • Second Score = Remaining Time Limit (seconds) x 0.01 / 60

League Scores:

Second is the “League Score”. League scores are calculated as the average of the four median results calculated by considering your top six game scores, discarding the highest and lowest game, thereby highlighting consistent excellence rather than individual peak performances. The best strategy is to have at least six games completed with high game scores achieved for each game.

  • League Score = Average of your four top scores excluding the highest and the lowest score.

League Rankings:

Rankings are updated continuously in accordance with league scores throughout the season. The final ranking will be announced during the off day every Sunday at 12:00 UTC. In case of ties, tie-breaker rules are in effect. If two or more players complete the round with the same league scores.

  • The highest single game score will be prioritized.

  • If still tied, second-highest single game scores are compared, and so on.

Prizes: Chasing the Dream

Rewards are distributed based on both league tier and final ranking, with the total pool scaled to the total number of participants. Players can view expected prize amounts through the leaderboard in real-time, and final prizes are deposited directly into your account following the official announcement of results.

The prize system is based on three factors:

  • Skill Factor: The higher you rise, the sweeter your prize. (Score)

  • Stake Factor: The higher your stake, the more you take. (League tier)

  • Crowd Factor: The more that compete, the bigger the treat. (Number of challengers)

FAQ

  • Can I cancel my entry? Once you’re in, there’s no going back—no refunds or cancellations.

  • Does an early game exit count? Absolutely. Your score stops the moment you leave, so commit wisely.

  • What if scores tie? Highest individual game of the round decides it, then the next, and the next.

  • Are tickets per round? Yes. A fresh ticket is required every round.

  • Does each new season change things up? Yes! From game rule tweaks to balance shifts, each season brings surprises.

  • What if my connection drops mid-game? The game ends at that point, scoring what you’ve achieved so far. But with up to 42 attempts per round, there’s plenty of room to bounce back.

  • If I play past midnight, which day counts? The session is counted for the day when you started—no lost plays thanks to late-night strategy.

Fair Play as the Foundation

At the heart of the league’s philosophy is a steadfast commitment to fair play. This standard upholds an equitable competitive environment, reinforcing mutual trust and a dynamic spirit of rivalry. Any breaches are subject to penalty, reflecting the dedication of Olympian Games to honorable competition.

Your journey starts here. Sharpen your instincts, rally your courage, and prove yourself in The Stadium.
